As President of Ballymoney R.F.C. I am delighted to welcome you to our website which I hope you will enjoy browsing at your leisure.

At Ballymoney, we are extremely proud of our club’s success not only on the field but also in terms of our social appeal and this is clearly obvious as new members become involved with our senior, U19 , youth, Ladies and Minimaxi teams and through our social activities in our wonderfully refurbished clubhouse.

Currently we field four senior sides: Our First Fifteen, now well established in the flagship Kukri Qualifying Junior League, plays in one of Ulster’s most competitive, yet friendly, league competitions where the traditions of club rugby remain key. Our club structures this year are set to encourage players to develop throughout all of our five teams. It is a personal pleasure for me this year to see the reintroduction of our Fifth team.

Our U19 team has been set up on a solid foundation and we watch with interest as this experimental cotext develops. Our under 17XV, under 15 XV and under 13XV have made sterling beginnings in their new age categories. Craig Whyte’s work here is gaining increasing recognition and his group of 6 coaches is true testament to his continued commitment. In addition our 150 strong mini section led by Dr. David Johnston and his band of enthusiastic parents and helpers is the envy of many clubs. The inclusion of more fixtures with more “senior” clubs shown how much this section’s standing is being enhanced.

Our first ever Ladies team is taking shape under the watchful eyes of Gillian Powell. I wish them well in their formative season.

We have excellent rugby facilities including three sand mattress pitches, enabling us to play in all weather conditions. There is also a small gymnasium and associated changing accommodation. Our recently refurbished bar is warm and welcoming and we have a function suite capable of catering for 150 guests. We see our clubhouse very much as a community resource and we actively encourage other clubs and associations and our many friends in the neighbourhood to use these facilities whenever they wish.

The management of these facilities and the running of a successful club require a great deal of effort With regard to finance may I take this opportunity to warmly thank all our Club sponsors for their continuing generosity without which the Club could not survive never mind thrive.

You will find details of our sponsors elsewhere on the site (click here) and I would encourage you to support them if you have the opportunity.

Ballymoney R.F.C. is fortunate to have in place a first class management team headed up by Johnny Hannah, Club Chairman and an effective rugby structure led by Toss Skelton, the Rugby Chairman, and Jason Taggart, our Head Coach.

We are most appreciative of the hard work and talent that they and the various Committee men give freely to the Club and extend a warm welcome to any new members be they players, coaches or social.
