ladies rugby
Ladies rugby is in its first year at Ballymoney having been founded by a small but energetic group led by Gill Powell during the summer of 2009.
A committed and close squad of players has been built up gradually with 10 to 15 ladies turning out regularly on Monday nights for training.
The main aims in this first season are to:
· Cultivate a receptive climate for ladies rugby in the area
· Actively seek out interested players, coaches, committee members at all levels
· Support those ladies who wish to “have a go”
· Develop every player’s rugby knowledge and skills
· Play at least 5 development games
· Review progress and plan ahead for 2010 – 2011
Gill would like to thank all of those connected with Ballymoney who have supported the ladies in their efforts. In particular she would mention the Club’s Executive and the Ulster Branch, coaches, John Hunter and Johnny Linton and the public from Ballymoney and the surrounding towns who have shown their support.
If you wish to “have a go”, Gill can be contacted on 07761 576659.
Gill would extend a very warm welcome to any lady who would like to play, be a committee helper or become involved in any other way.
