3s warm up only for second half

With several players introducing themselves to each other in the warm up, this was always going to be a tough fixture. And with Inst 1s and 2s both having a week off, it was a big and well organised Inst side that took the field.

The first half saw the catch and drive from lineout feature heavily in the attack for the visitors - three tries coming directly through that channel. And with indiscipline from the author costing a yellow card, and an injury to Adam Hewitt weakening the pack, Inst were well on their way to a good win.

The second half was much improved -with tighter defence and less penalties for Ballymoney - Neil Campbell's yellow card for collapsing another maul notwithstanding! - but a breakaway score edged it again for the visitors.

The 3s will need to work together on securing their own ball and releasing the backline when they have one, but there are certainly positives to be taken from this game. Next up is Randalstown again at home on the 20th.
