A difficult day at the office for Ballymoney 3XV, who were looking to continue their good form of late.

On a sunny afternoon in Donegal, Ballymoney 3XV looked to extend their lead at the top of the table but let themselves down with some very poor discipline. 1 red card and a yellow card let Donegal build a good lead in the 1st half, leading 27 nil half time. It wasn't until Ballymoney found themselves 34 nil down before they started to play.

The 1st try came from Ciaran McKenna who showed the speed he has turning Donegal inside and out before racing clear. Conversion nailed by Ruairi Hawthorne. The 2nd and 3rd tries were both scored by Ruairi Hawthorne, bulldozing over from close quarters. Converting the 1st and missing the 2nd.

A disappointing performance from Ballymoney is not the standard we set ourselves. A few weeks off now, giving us some time to work on our play and plan to come back stronger. Final score 37 - 19 to Donegal.

Both sides paid tribute to Toss Skelton with a minute silence before the game. Unfortunately, we couldn't give the man the win he would have wanted and deserved. He was a great servant to Ballymoney RFC.
