Ballymoney 2nd XV continue their fine run of form with a hard earned win over league leaders Carrick 2s at Kilraughts Road on Saturday with a hard earned 25-14 , scoring 4 tries , 3 from the backs and 1 well worked try from the pack who were dominant against the large Carrick pack .
Ballymoney had taken a strong lead but unfortunately were reduced to 14 men for the majority of the second half with Carrick scoring twice in the last 10 minutes but the gritty defence held out to give Money a well deserved win , much to the delight of manager Calum McDonald .
Calum said “ It was a terrific team performance against a strong Carrick side but we are on a great run at the moment and fear no one . Following last weeks away win to Armagh we worked hard i and it was our resolute defence that eventually won the game . We scored four tries , 3 coming from the backs and one from the pack . It was backs to the wall stuff for the last 20 minutes as we were down to 14 but we showed a great grit and determination to beat the league leaders.”
