On Saturday at Kilraughts Road Ballymoney 3XV welcomed Donegal Town 1XV in a game full of try’s.

From a few good phases the Ballymoney men were able to get the ball through the hands of their backs to Mark McNeill who danced through to score the first try of the day. The first half continued to be a close encounter with Donegal running hard and showing great physicality. Strong carries from John McFetridge and Alec Huey led to Robbie McNeil and Ruairi Hawthorne crossing the line to leave it 21-7 at the half time mark.

Donegal started the second half off strong making Ballymoney concede a series of penalties which led to Alex Hughes getting shown a yellow card, leaving the toon down to 14 men and Donegal awarded a penalty try. Ruairi made a break from the half way line to score the try of the day with the Donegal winger hanging off him. Ballymoney still continued to have the upper hand with Mark McNeil and Ruairi Hawthorne both ending the game with hatricks leaving the final score 47-24.

Another good bonus point win at the Kilraughts Road for the Ballymoney 3XV who continue their league campaign at home to UUCM next week
